Bear Paw Rabbitry – Buyer's Agreement

Bear Paw Rabbitry (hereafter referred to as "BPR") is ARBA Registered and raises Rex rabbits in Priest River, Idaho. BPR's velvety-furred Rex rabbits are lovingly raised & ethically bred toward the Standard of Perfection for the breed. BPR is committed to raising healthy, well-socialized rabbits and ensuring a smooth experience for every buyer.

This agreement outlines the terms and conditions of purchasing a rabbit from BPR. By submitting payment or taking possession of a rabbit, the buyer agrees to the following terms:

1. Deposits and Payments

  • A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the purchase price is required to hold any rabbit, unless otherwise agreed upon between the Buyer and BPR.

    • Deposits are only refundable in the rare event that BPR is unable to deliver the rabbit due to illness, injury, or death of the animal while still in BPR’s care.

  • Accepted payment methods: Cash (preferred), Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, Zelle, and CashApp,

    • Full payment is due prior to or at time of pickup or before rabbit is transferred to a third-party transporter.

2. Transport and Pickup

  • We do not ship our rabbits.

  • Rabbits can be picked up in Priest River, Idaho, at a public location. 

    • BPR is often willing to meet in the following cities (and areas in between/surrounding):

      • Sandpoint, ID, Post Falls, ID, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Newport, WA, Spokane, WA, Richland/Kennewick/Pasco (Tri-Cities), WA, Ritzville, WA, at BPR’s convenience and discretion.

    • BPR works with buyers to coordinate economical and convenient pickup, whenever possible. BPR will often plan personal out-of-town errands and trips around meeting buyers along the route of travel to save on fuel and time for both parties.

  • BPR will work with buyer-arranged transport services at the buyer’s risk and expense.

    • BPR reserves the right to refuse the use of any transport services at our discretion, in the interest of rabbit health and safety.

    • Once the rabbit is transferred to the buyer or their transporter, all liability and responsibility transfers to the buyer/transporter.

    • If using an animal transport service, BPR may charge the Buyer for fuel and time to meet the Transporter along their route.  Fees depend on the driving distance/fuel cost for BPR to meet the Transporter and will be discussed and agreed upon with the Buyer ahead of time. Transporters typically have set routes and expect to be met along those routes for drop off and pickup.

3. Health Guarantee

  • It is the Buyer’s responsibility to inspect rabbits upon receipt and confirm sex.  The Buyer accepts health, condition, and sex of rabbit upon taking ownership.

  • All rabbits leave Bear Paw Rabbitry in good health to the best of our knowledge.

  • BPR does not guarantee future health, size, weight, fertility, temperament, or show performance once the rabbit has left our care.

  • A small bag pellets will be provided for each rabbit to help them to transition onto a new diet.

  • Buyer assumes all responsibility for the rabbit's wellbeing upon transfer, including but not limited to: dietary issues, stress from transport or relocation, injury, illness, or death caused by any external factor beyond our control.

4. Sales Policy

  • All sales are final. No returns or exchanges. No refunds.

  • Bear Paw Rabbitry reserves the right to refuse sale to anyone, at any time, without explanation.

  • If a buyer is found to have misrepresented their intentions or mismanaged a prior animal, BPR reserves the right to cancel a pending sale.

5. Pedigree and Pricing

  • Pricing varies and is based on age, pedigree, and lineage:

    • 8-Week-Old Pedigreed Rabbits start at $75.

    • Older Juniors and other Adult rabbits are priced individually on a case-by-case basis.

  • BPR may charge feeding & boarding fees for holding a rabbit for an extended period of time, which would be agreed upon with the Buyer when arranging pickup.

6. Limitation of Liability

By purchasing a rabbit from Bear Paw Rabbitry, the Buyer acknowledges and agrees that:

  • BPR is not liable for any veterinary expenses, injuries, illnesses, emotional distress, or loss of the rabbit after it has left BPR’s possession.

  • Rabbits are living animals, and unforeseen changes in health or behavior may occur after the sale.

  • Buyer is solely responsible for any care, treatment, or decision made after taking possession of the rabbit.

  • Buyer is aware that releasing a domestic rabbit into the wild is cruel and illegal:

    • If no longer able to care for/keep the rabbit, and, in the event that the Buyer cannot find another qualified home for it, Buyer agrees to return the rabbit to the Seller at Buyer’s expense. No refund will be given.

7. Agreement to Terms

By placing a deposit, making full payment, or accepting possession of a rabbit, the buyer affirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Buyer's Agreement in full.
